Rudbeckia fulgida ‘Goldsturm’
Black-eyed Daisy  (Zone 3)
‘Goldsturm’ is a widely used cultivar of our southeastern U.S. native Rudbeckia fulgida. ‘Goldsturm’ was originally bred in Germany in the late 1930’s and selected for its free flowering more compact habit than the species. It will grow to 18-24" and blooms in Mid to Late-season. The golden, daisy-like flowers are 3-4" wide and last for months in the summer. Deadheading old blooms will encourage continual flower production. These perform admirably in a full sun site with rich, well-worked soil. The dark green foliage contrasts well with the gold flowers. Ideally these should be vegetatively propagated, seed propagated forms may exhibit a wide range of variation in form and height. This wonderful long blooming perennial was voted the Plant of the Year in 1999 by the Perennial Plant Association.

Solidago ‘Crown of Rays’
Ornamental Goldenrod  (Zone 2)
Contrary to popular belief, goldenrod does not cause hay fever! We will blame that on the Ragweeds. This cultivar is a dwarf selection of our native, aggressive, Canada Goldenrod. This plant was bred mainly for its large, yellow flower panicles and short, compact habit. Its vibrant golden-yellow blooms are produced in Late-season atop 24" plants. This cultivar was originally introduced into the trade as a cut flower for arrangements and bouquets. These plants perform best in a full-sun site with average well-drained soil. They look especially good in the garden with other late-blooming perennials such as Asters, Boltonia, and Dendranthema.
...............Available in 1-Quart only.

Solidago rugosa ‘Fireworks’
Ornamental Goldenrod  (Zone 2)
For years Goldenrods have been receiving a bad rap for supposedly causing hay fever; however, this is totally false. Rather it is plants in the genus Ambrosia (Ragweed) that are the primary culprits causing hay fever. ‘Fireworks’ is a fantastic 3' dwarf selection of the native rough-stemmed goldenrod. The large, arching sprays of yellow panicles are displayed in Late-season. This plant can be used as a specimen, accent plant, and the cut flowers are also excellent to use in arrangements. Like other goldenrods, they prefer full sun and average well-drained soil. They combine well with other late-blooming perennials such as Boltonia, Asters, Dendranthema and Phlox.

Stachys byzantina
Lamb’s Ears  (Zone 4)
Lamb’s Ears is one of those truly unforgettable garden perennials. It is primarily grown and used for its soft, silvery, basal foliage. The purplish flowers, which appear on 18" stems, are commonly removed from the plants as they develop as many people feel they detract from the overall appearance of the plant. The foliage will grow to 8" and likes a full sun site with well-drained soil of moderate fertility. During periods of hot, humid weather foliar diseases may develop leading to open dead patches in the center of the plant. If possible, avoid late day and overhead watering during these periods. A nice plant for edging and borders.
...............Available in 1-Quart only.

Great to use in rock gardens, perennial beds and containers.

Common Betony  (Zone 4)
Most gardeners and horticulturists are familiar with the traditional silver-foliaged Stachys byzantina (Lamb’s Ears). This clump forming selection blooms in Mid-season and has lustrous dark green basal foliage. Plant in a full sun site with well-drained soil of moderate fertility.
